This last month was definitely my summer vacation between summer and fall classes. I hope all my readers have been finding time to relax and do things they love! :) I had a chance to think and talk about my blog, creating next steps for what I would like to do with my personal projects :) I am very interested in sustainability as I have learned more about it and have been inspired to help our planet. I hope to continue this interest within my blog, and my college studies by pursuing a minor in sustainability studies to accompany my Business Management Econ major! Also included in this month's blog post is another shopping haul installment with more product reviews as I have expanded my Pela collection beyond phone cases. I also worked a bit towards my @happyearth September Ambassador Challenge through registering to vote and creating a petition for our senators of Oregon to implement a similar organization to Santa Cruz's "Homeless Garden Project" in my hometown. Last but not least a new clothing collaboration announcement with my girl @dj_abi_music as well as more general updates! Read up ❤️

Shopping Haul!

@happyearth -from completing monthly ambassador challenges and saving my impact points I was able to redeem my points towards my next order! I decided to treat my bf and I to two super comfy organic shirts: the "Green Valley" long sleeve for my bf and the "Speak for the Trees" Tshirt for myself. Collectively we saved 300 pounds of Greenhouse Gas Emissions from polluting our air!

Pela Lavendar Watchband

This watchband is so awesome! I would definitely recommend this product, it is comfortable and sustainable (with removable hardware), some lighter colors can get stained easily but my lavender band is holding up great! Next, I plan on getting the green-colored watchband and eventually replacing my black one.

PelaVision Sulu Sunglasses (with blue light lens kit)

I love these glasses too!! Especially the blue light lens kit because I am constantly on screens and they protect my eyes! Unfortunately, I had trouble switching the lenses once and made a seriously tiny tiny crack in the UV lenses and I told Pela and they sent me a new pair right away they are so amazing!!! The best thing to do is be more careful and gentle, my fingers had slipped but it's all okay now!!

Target Haul!

Pela Ambassadorship:

This month I moved up to the highest tier in my ambassadorship program, I am now a Waste-free Warrior! This allows me to have a higher discount for my friends and family to share, I can attend virtual events, and receive quarterly product boxes to review as being a special part of the @pelawavemakers family! I am so excited about the opportunity to further my action and awareness about climate change thank you @pelacase. For more information about their ambassador program or my 20% discount code feel free to reach out! Happy Earth Ambassador September Challenge:

Register to Vote & Write to your US Government Representatives

This month I was able to register to vote in Oregon, the first time being old enough to participate in the elections. As part of writing to my US Government Representatives, I wanted to bring a whole new idea to the table as I noticed they have introduced many bills addressing issues like climate change already! I started a petition on Change.org to implement a similar organization to that of the "Homeless Garden Project" from Santa Cruz, California to Portland, Oregon! I plan to speak to the senators of Oregon to express how important this topic is to me as it provides food and jobs to individuals experiencing houselessness; and how much beauty and joy it can bring to downtown Portland through gardening! A link to sign my petition is available in my LinkTree on Instagram and I will update my supporters with progress as I begin to converse with Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley.

Instagram Feed Development Schedule ~NEW~

WILDFIRE AWARENESS!!! (continued) West Coast Wildfire Updates- of the 3 wildfire complexes I mentioned last blog post, all are 98% contained as I am writing this. My campus is safe and I am getting a chance to visit. However I live in Oregon currently and the AQI in my city has been over 300 and hazardous outside, requiring masks/staying indoors entirely. The air has been improving over the past couple of days and we hope for no more fires anywhere on the West Coast. In California currently, the largest ever recorded wildfire complex is burning at ~809,000 acres (breaking the previous record of 459,123 acres from the Mendocino Complex Fire in 2018). That fire now being 30% contained more information about California Wildfire pictured below. Thank you again to our firefighters for their tremendous work protecting nature and civilization. Another note on fire safety!!!!!! Smokey the Bear is your goshdarn role model MAN COME ON. Do Not light objects on fire near any vegetation/anything dry or flammable -- it will spread before you get water or help -- Listed again are the leading causes of wildfires: Natural: (Lighting/Dry Weather), Man Made: (Campfires, Cigarettes, and Fireworks). Thank you stay safe, protect our forests.
