Revamping Kylie's GreenSpace

Why Kylie’s GreenSpace?

Toward the end of my previous blog, I discovered my passion (to work) for the environment. I had always felt connected to nature growing up in the forests of Oregon and I realized the importance of creating a space where I could showcase what I want to learn, what I am working on and helping others in their personal efforts to be more eco-friendly. I also discovered the growing need for experts in the field of environmentalism. I never planned on minoring in sustainability studies much less getting my Master’s degree in general. I am very excited to reface my brand as Kylie’s GreenSpace and apply my new knowledge as I go through my graduate program.

What has changed about my content

I decided to phase out my previous interest in fashion because of the fashion industry’s contribution to climate change. This also tied into my content about celebrity fashion and how I understand now that it does not represent what I value. I still have love for my outfits each day and haven't actively been shopping for new clothes since I learned to enjoy the ones I have. I also stopped being active in my “WeHeartIt Wednesday” content since it was primarily done for aesthetic purposes and does not necessarily contribute positively to the message I want to share and how I would rather educate others and share my accomplishments. I am sorry to those who were interested in these aspects of my blog since the beginning but my passions have changed (and so has the climate ;) )

What I hope to implement in my blog

Going forward I hope to create a blog post on my website every Saturday that will include topics such as a recap of my week, a section for Sustainability News Sunday to go in-depth about the article I researched, “Master’s Monday” in which I hope to talk about what I am learning in school and projects I am working on, any continuing ambassador work with the company I am currently partnered with Happy Earth Apparel, my activity on my new favorite app AllTrails with some lovely nature pictures, any new growth in my houseplants since I think that may be fun for my readers to watch progress, and my coming soon section including what's coming up in my next blog post and what I hope to accomplish with my work.

Regarding my Instagram I hope to post new content on @kyliesgreenspace every Sunday and Thursday: Sustainable News Sunday will provide a summary of an article posted the previous day that can be read more about on my website. Thursday will be a general post day that will relate to upcoming or previous work for Kylie’s GreenSpace.
